Stephon J. Boatwright

Political Scientist / Advocate

Greetings and thank you for visiting my page. I am Stephon Boatwright, an Assistant Professor of Political Science and International Relations with Saint Michael's College in Colchester Vermont.  I also work with Lehman College in the Bronx neighborhood of New York City. My scholarly pursuits revolve around the realms of political violence, radical movements, American politics, and constitutional law.  I am also a former high school social studies teacher of eight years.

Beyond academia, my work is dedicated to the preservation of Earth's wild landscapes and the defense of human rights both domestically and internationally. I am an active member of Human Rights Campaign, the Sierra Club, ACLU-VT, Amnesty International, and others working in the pursuit of justice and freedom. Through political organizing, I find myself at the forefront of the nation's most pivotal debates, forging relationships with policymakers and bringing more citizens into the democratic process.

My personal passion lies in the exploration of every corner of our vast world. Having traveled to all 50 states and numerous nations spanning four continents, I am fueled by the adventure of the unknown. An avid mountaineer and hiker, I capture my adventures through the lens of camera and film, a selection of which is featured below. My next adventure involves exploring all the nations of Europe and the Americas.

I invite you to explore my thoughts and reflections on the world and its affairs, and connect to stay in touch or collaborate.

Cheers!
